Push the cart. Or pull it.
You're bound to the handles. Point where the cart should go and you push it there; double back and you're pulling it. Every gun turns with it, and the cart rams whatever stands in the way.

A steampunk survivorlike. Bolt guns into the sockets of a battle-cart, then push it, or pull it, through the horde.
Cart provided. Previous hauler no longer available.
Keep the cart running until the clock stops. Spend your Scrap rebuilding it, then go back out. Repeat until extracted, or until replaced.

You're bound to the handles. Point where the cart should go and you push it there; double back and you're pulling it. Every gun turns with it, and the cart rams whatever stands in the way.

Guns bolt into sockets on the hull. Some sockets face one side, some turn through an arc, some sweep all the way round, and each takes only certain guns.

Maintenance drones by the thousand, sent to recycle any machine they didn't build. Some bite, some ram, some explode, some shoot from the air. Last of all comes the Centipede Locomotive.

After each round, pick your level-ups, then spend the Scrap you hauled on guns and modules. Merge two of the same gun to level it up, or mount both. At level 10 a gun Overclocks.

The toughest drones drop something worth keeping. Even if you're lost, it buys new carts, guns and modules for whoever goes next.
The cart was recovered. The hauler was not.

One letter when the demo ships, one at launch, and the odd devlog in between.
The clerk writes slowly. You will not be bothered often.
